The Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate is 1.7-mile suspension Bridge that connects San Francisco and Marin counties has become one of the most popular and beloved bridges in the world. The Golden Gate Bridge which is also known as the Golden Door of America is one of the most attractive objects of San Francisco.

In 1916 the foundation stone of the bridge was established. The main pillar of the bridge was planned to be 4002 feet as designed. The construction of the bridge started on 5 January 1933, its construction work has been going on for nearly twenty years due to various problems. The length of the bridge is 2.7 kilometers and the width is 27.45 meters. More than 1, 18,000 vehicles move on this six lanes bridge daily.
The bridge color is officially called an orange vermilion or international orange. The color was chosen by architect Irving Morrow because it supplements the natural environment and enhances the visibility of the bridge in foggy nature.
With its main span of 4,200 feet and a total height of 746 feet, the bridge stands as both the longest and the tallest suspension bridge in the world. The bridge was popular with pedestrians and cyclists, and on both sides of Traffic Lanes there are walking paths. The Bridge is one of the wonders of the modern world which is possibly most wonderful and beautiful Bridge and has been photographed most. Thousands of people travel every day to see this bridge.
There is a visitor center and a gift shop, which is basically known as “Bridge Pavilion”, is situated beside the south-east parking side of San Francisco. A cafe, outdoor exhibition, and restroom facility are located nearby.
The Bridge is also renowned as the second most used suicide bridge after Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, China.
